“Admin delete” feature

WhatsApp has recently added many new features to its instant messaging service, such as increasing file sharing size, muting messages from specific users in a group chat, and hiding the last seen profile picture and online status of certain contacts. Now, WhatsApp is preparing to launch a new “Admin delete” feature that gives group administrators the power to delete any message for everyone. With the inclusion of the ability to delete group messages for everyone, group managers will be able to better manage their WhatsApp groups.

The feature will be available to beta testers of WhatsApp on Android with versions up to 2.22.17.12. If you are the admin of the group and try to delete an incoming message and see the option to “delete for everyone”, it indicates that the feature is available to you. Your name will always appear in the chat bubble when you delete a message sent to the whole group by another group member, so everyone knows you did it.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is also rolling out a fix for then recovery button. The catch up button, which usually appears when someone mentions you in a group chat, is buggy in its current state and not appearing for any reason. WhatsApp beta gets “Remove admin” feature, update button bug fixed
