Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons: Who Are They?
The Maximals and the Predacons, who followed the Autobots and the Decepticons in the evolution of Cybertronians, were first featured in the late 1990s animated television series Beast Wars: Transformers. In contrast to the Autobots and the Decepticons, Maximals and Predacons change into animals and birds instead of vehicles.
According to the timeline of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, both characters have been on Earth for a very long time, so we assume there have been some time-traveling antics. The film’s primary antagonists, the Terrorcons, are frequently portrayed as a division of the Decepticons. They appear to be a separate squad that hunts Maximals and Autobots throughout the film.

What Are the Transformers’ 7 Main Characters?
Three groups of Cybertronians will appear in Transformers Rise of the Beasts, among other characters. The following people will play the most significant roles in the film:
Then came the humans:
- Noah, a former military electronics expert who lives in Brooklyn with his younger brother and mother, is portrayed by Anthony Ramos. Noah’s mom, Luna Lauren Velez, makes an appearance.
- Elena is an extremely talented woman who is an artifact researcher in a museum, and Dominique Fishback portrays her. Although Elena does a fantastic job in her profession, her boss frequently takes credit for it, which forces her to find a method to stand out.
The Transformers:
- The renowned Autobot commander Optimus Prime, voiced by Peter Cullen, turns into a 1987 Freightliner FLA semi-truck. This version of the heroic commander is relatively new to Earth. It is still in the course of becoming the Autobot we recognize and love, in contrast to the typical representation of Optimus as a stoic man who is the pinnacle of Marty Stu.
- An Autobot scout named Bumblebee was dispatched to Earth in the previous film. He changes into a 1970s Classic Chevrolet Camaro in yellow and black. Dylan O’Brien voiced the role in Bumblebee.
- Mirage, an Autobot with a silver-blue Porsche as his alternate form, is voiced by Pete Davidson. Mirage has been referred to as the renegade of the bunch and is fast and showy. He is the Autobot who establishes the closest bond with the fictional humans.
- Arcee, a female Autobot who is a fearless fighter and devoted soldier, is portrayed by Liza Koshy. She appears in the Bumblebee movie as a red-and-white Ducati 916 motorcycle, and Grey Griffin provides her voice.
- Wheeljack is an Autobot scientist and mechanic who, like Ratchet in the Michael Bay Transformers, is voiced by Cristo Fernández. He changes into a 1964 Volkswagen Classic Devon Camper van in brown and white. In Bumblebee, Wheeljack was voiced by Steve Blum.
The Maximals:
- The Maximals’ leader, Optimus Primal, is voiced by Ron Perlman. Primal is Optimus Prime’s spiritual heir in the Beast Wars storylines. He changes into an orangutan.
- Rhinox, a Maximal who is the team’s brains and muscles, is voiced by David Sobolov. He only wants to ram things with his horn when he changes into a rhinoceros.
- A female Maximal named Airazor, voiced by Michelle Yeoh, is the center of the group and is characterized as being quite nurturing—until you cross her. She undergoes a peregrine falcon transformation.
- Cheetor is a Maximal and is, as you would have guessed, a cheetah.
Last but not least, The Terrorcons:
- Scourge, the head of the Terrorcons and a gadget freak, is voiced by Peter Dinklage. He turns into a black Kenworth JF logging truck and is the main adversary of the film.
- Nightbird, a female Terrorcon and Scourge’s right hand, is voiced by Michaela Jaé Rodriguez. She becomes an R33 Nissan Skyline GT-R.
- Another Terrorcon is called Battletrap. He changes into a tow truck from General Motors, model C4500, in orange. David Sobolov provides his voice as well.
