QuickBooks Enterprise Cost: Pricing and Plans Compared (2026)
Four editions, one annual subscription, and several extras that change the real cost.
In this article
QuickBooks Enterprise is sold as an annual subscription in four editions: Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond. In 2026, list prices for a single user start at roughly $1,900 a year for Silver and reach about $5,400 a year for Diamond. Every additional user raises the price, and cloud access, payroll per employee and some add-ons cost extra. Intuit also runs frequent promotions, so the figure you’re quoted can differ from the list price.
QuickBooks Enterprise editions and prices
| Edition | Approx. list price (1 user, per year) | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | ~$1,873 | Core Enterprise: 200+ customisable reports, online backup, support 7 days a week, automatic upgrades |
| Gold | ~$2,210 | Silver plus Enhanced Payroll (per-employee fees apply) |
| Platinum | ~$2,717 | Gold plus Advanced Inventory, Advanced Pricing rules and bill/purchase order approval workflows |
| Diamond | ~$5,364 | Platinum plus Assisted Payroll (Intuit files payroll taxes) and QuickBooks Time Elite |
Prices are approximate 2026 list prices for one user, as reported by NerdWallet in January 2026. Check Intuit’s pricing page or a reseller for a current quote.
What pushes the price up
More users
Enterprise supports up to 30 or 40 simultaneous users, depending on edition. Each extra user adds a significant amount. Even one additional Silver user can add more than $1,000 a year, so get quotes for your exact user count.
Payroll fees per employee
Gold and Platinum include Enhanced Payroll, but per-employee monthly fees apply on top. Diamond’s Assisted Payroll charges per employee per pay period, and QuickBooks Time Elite is billed per employee per month.
Cloud access
QuickBooks Enterprise is desktop software. To use it remotely, you either pay Intuit’s hosting add-on, a monthly fee per user, or use an authorised third-party host. Many multi-site businesses end up paying for one of these.
Add-ons and integrations
Field service, advanced reporting connectors and some industry features are add-ons or sit only in higher editions. Payment processing fees are separate too.
Which edition do you need?
- Silver: you need Enterprise’s capacity, with more users, bigger files and deeper reporting, but run payroll elsewhere.
- Gold: you want to run payroll in-house inside QuickBooks.
- Platinum: you hold inventory in multiple locations, track serial or lot numbers, use barcodes, or need customer-specific pricing. It’s the most common pick for distributors and manufacturers.
- Diamond: you want Intuit to handle payroll tax filing, and you need built-in time tracking for a larger workforce.
QuickBooks Enterprise vs QuickBooks Online Advanced
If you don’t need desktop-only features like Advanced Inventory, compare Enterprise with QuickBooks Online Advanced, Intuit’s top cloud plan. It is billed monthly, runs in a browser with no hosting required, and supports up to 25 users. Businesses with heavy inventory, manufacturing or industry-specific needs usually stay on Enterprise, while service businesses often find Online Advanced simpler and cheaper overall.
How to get the best price
- Ask for promotions. Intuit and its resellers regularly discount the first year.
- Price the renewal, not just year one. Discounts often end after the first term.
- Buy only the users you need now. You can add users later.
- Compare total cost, including hosting, payroll fees and add-ons, not just the edition price.
